The Bundestag election results shown have been based on second votes since 1953. All Bundestag election results are shown for the Federal Republic of Germany and the federal states.
In addition, results for West Germany (old federal states and Berlin-West) and East Germany (new federal states and Berlin-East) have been included due to the strong regional differences in party development.
The data are taken from publications of the Federal Statistical Office and the state statistical offices.
Please note that the percentage results do not always add up to 100% due to rounding errors.
