As the global financial crisis transformed into a European sovereign debt crisis in late 2009, Greece has ever since occupied a central position in all discussions about the present and the future of the Eurozone. Following the disclosure about Greece’s false statistics and the readjustment of the country’s current account deficit from 6 to 15.6 percent, Greece has been dragged into the heart of an economic and political maelstrom that has questioned at times the very viability of the European project.

International migration and European integration have a complex relationship to European integration. For some it is emblematic of crisis: from this point of view, the impacts of immigration have been damaging for European societies by making them less cohesive. For other, migration is embedded within the history of Europe and of the European Union. From this point of view, migration will necessarily be part of Europe’s future, which requires better ways of addressing the issues raised by international migration.

It will shape Europe and European integration for years to come, but it also risks leading Europe down the road to disintegration.

Brasiliens Präsidentin Dilma Rousseff wähnt das Land seither gar im Visier von Schwarzmalern, die die Hoffnungen des Landes auf Fortschritt schmälern wollten. Unterdessen sorgt die Deutsche Bank für zusätzliche Verwirrung, indem sie dem Land am Amazonas ein höheres Wachstum als dessen eigene Zentralbank prognostizierte. Wo steht das Land denn nun tatsächlich? Und welche Rolle wird es künftig spielen?

A Fundação Konrad Adenauer está representada, com escritórios próprios, em cerca de 70 países em cinco continentes diferentes. Os colaboradores locais no estrangeiro conseguem assim relatar em primeira mão acontecimentos actuais e desenvolvimentos de longo prazo no país onde vivem. Na rubrica “Relatos nacionais” oferecem aos utilizadores do site da Fundação Konrad Adenauer, a título exclusivo, análises, informações de fundo e avaliações.

Contribuições aos eventos

A Fundação Konrad Adenauer, os seus órgãos e centros de formação e os seus escritórios no estrangeiro sugerem anualmente vários milhares de eventos sobre temas sempre diferentes.
