The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Latvia, the 4th May Declaration Club and the Public Council of the Museum of the Popular Front of Latvia hosted a conference and a concert with the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, the National History Museum of Latvia and the Dailes Theatre to reflect on the largest political organization in the history of the country, the Popular Front of Latvia. The Popular Front united the people to take power by parliamentary means during the occupation and restored Latvia’s independence from the Soviet Union. Visitors of the conference included representatives of the Baltic nations as well as the former Swedish ambassador Lars Peters Freden, an eyewitness of the Popular Front.
