Current EU-China relations are marked by two major aspects:
firstly, the struggle to establish a strategic link in the form of a Partnership and Cooperation Agreement (PCA).
Secondly, EU-China relations are undergoing profound transformations due to the leadership changes in both China and Europe. What do these leadership changes mean for the EU-China strategic partnership? Will they promote it or slow it down? How are the new leaders dealing with key issue areas such as trade, environmental degradation or urbanization? And how do they promote a closer connection between the European and Chinese societies?
These central questions will be addressed during the Second Workshop on Europe-China Relations in Global Politics, organized by the Graduate School of Global Politics at Free University Berlin and its partner, the School of International Studies at Renmin University of China in Beijing which will kindly host the Workshop.
