Details

Thorsten Frei has been a member of the German Bundestag (CDU/CSU) since October 2013. From 1994 to 1999, he studied Law at the University of Freiburg. He worked as a Lecturer in Commercial Law at the University of Cooperative Education (now Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University Lörrach) from 1999 to 2002. Mr. Frei practiced law from 2001 to 2002, and from 2002 to 2004, he served as a personal assistant to the Minister for State and European Affairs at the Baden-Württemberg State Ministry. He became the Mayor of Donaueschingen in 2004, serving until 2013. From 1999 to 2004, he was a member of the Bad Säckingen Town Council and Chairman of the CDU Parliamentary Group on the Bad Säckingen Municipal Council. From 2000 to 2004, he was a member of the assembly of the Hochrhein-Bodensee Regional Association; Chairman of the Waldshut County branch of the CDU from 2001 to 2004; Chairman of the Baden-Württemberg Land branch of the Local Government Policy Association of the CDU from 2006 to 2016; Deputy Chairman of the Baden-Württemberg Land branch of the CDU since 2007; a member of the County Council since 2009; and Chairman of the CDU Parliamentary Group on Schwarzwald-Baar-Kreis County Council since 2011.
