New workshop series for Belarusians

In 2016 the Belarus Country Office of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, in cooperation with the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies (Brussels), is starting a new workshop series: the “KAS-Martens Centre Discussion Club”. The aim of this initiative is to set up a non-partisan learning, professionalisation, discussion and exchange of ideas club for high-qualified Belarusian students and young professionals.

The workshop series is drafted for young Belarusians who are interested in the center-right ideology and policies as well as committed to the pro-European orientation of Belarus and values constituting the nucleus of the European People’s Party ideological basis: the dignity of human life, freedom and responsibility, equality and justice, truth, solidarity and subsidiarity.

During the initial phase, the Club's activities will comprise a 9-months-long workshop cycle, which will include, inter alia, lectures and seminars on the European Union, the ideological basis of European center-right parties as well as its political, economic and legal underpinnings, on its implications for the specific European policy fields and on EU’s relations with the Eastern Partnership states, as well as practical training units in speaking, writing, debating, in project management, public outreach and media activities.
