Konrad Adenauer Foundation Canada Office seeks to enhance cooperation and dialogue between Germany, Canada and Europe through innovation, civil science, as well as in the areas of security, technology, climate change and migration. As #KAS4Security being a priority for 2025, Konrad Adenauer Foundation Canada Office will fund security, technology and democracy related scientific research and publications to its strategic objectives as outlined in its website.
Grants under #KAS4Security are provided at the sole discretion of Konrad Adenauer Foundation. These documents underline the financial and administrative procedures for the management of the grant and sets the general terms and conditions governing grants made under #KAS4Security.
The topics chosen for 2025 are:
1-The future of free trade agreements in times of global trade war - how to strengthen the economic cooperation between Canada, Europe, and Germany. The Agenda of Canada and Germany in comparison with CETA and CUSMA?
2-Artificial intelligence, cyber-security, quantum technologies and its impact on the resilience of free and liberal democracies- the erosion of the post war multilateral system. Will digital autocracies challenge the world's free democracies? and
3-The new Arctic Strategy of Canada, NATO and the European Union – a new Nordic Alliance and its challenges 2030. Is NATO sufficiently prepared to protect critical infrastructure and supply chains – what should be done?
