This conference, gathering 20 media practitioners from 14 countries, is an exchange of senior finance and economics reporters, editors and experts in the fields of trade and journalism.

The programme includes an impressive line-up of speakers, from Africa and Europe. Topics on the agenda include financial journalism in today’s high frequency news, Africa continental free trade area, and GDP: The Alpha and the Omega, about reporting the GDP using expenditure and income approaches. Participants will also get to learn more about the state of finance and economics reporting in Kenya, difficulties of grooming business journalism in Ethiopia, and how media practitioners handle fiscal policy amidst deficit budgets in Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa.
