Namibian Voters Sensitisation and Awareness
Voters sensitisation and awareness is a crucial component in preparation of the upcoming Presidential and National Assembly elections slated for November 2024. As part of its contribution to democracy and electoral process, KAS is supporting the voter education discussion programme on NBC Radio. We urge the public to tune in every Tuesday, 10:00 -11:00 and participate.

Roundtable on current socioeconomic situation in Angola
Informal Sector, Labor market and developmental economic implication in Angola
Dies ist das 2. Experten-Diskusionsforum aus der Reihe Wirtschaft und Soziales, die die KAS Namibia-Angola nach dem Erfolg der ersten Runde mit dem Partner der Universität Lusiada/Angola in diesem Jahr veranstaltet. Die Themen, die von verschiedenen Experten vorgestellt und mit dem akademischen und politischen Forum diskutiert werden, befassen sich mit dem aktuellen Herausforderungen des Arbeitsmarktes, insbesondere mit den Auswirkungen des informellen Sektors auf das Wachstum und die sozioökonomische Entwicklung in Angola. Ferner geben Präsentationen einen Einblick in die Diskussion um Lohndebatten und Mindestlohn im öffentlichen Sektor, die in der Vergangenheit mit mehreren Streikwellen und Protesten einhergingen.

Annual Magistrates' Conference
Fostering a Unified Magistracy
The Magistrate Commission in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Magistrate in partnership with the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) are hosting the Annual Magistrates' Conference in Swakopmund in a continued effort to improve service delivery in the judicial sector and ensure the efficient and effective administration of Justice within the country. It is against this backdrop that the Annual Magistrates Conference serves as an annual platform where amendments of acts, policies, and regulations are canvased, challenges in the regions are shared, and strategies are formulated to deal with the ever-increasing court roll. The platform further serves to bring Magistrates from across Namibia together to share best practices and strengthen their capacity with the support of topical experts.

ECSO Project Information Sessions and CSO Stakeholder Meetings
Second Round - IIKaras
The ECSO project team will host the second round of information sessions with the selected CSOs participating in IIKaras region on 24 September in Keetmanshoop. The topic will cover the importance of Participatory Democracy and the role CSOs plays in this process. On 25 September the ECSO project team will then proceed with the second round of CSO meetings with selected participating CSOs in the project with the aim to further support their relationship building efforts with regional stakeholders to achieve their common goals. The project supported by the European Union and Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, in association with Womens Action for Development continues to make efforts to improve the sustainability of CSOs and their impact in their communities.

Die KAS veranstaltet zusammen mit der North-West University und der University of Namibia die jährliche internationale Konferenz zum Bank- und Unternehmensrecht (BCCL). Die Konferenz bringt Akademiker aus der gesamten SADC-Region zusammen. Die Themen beziehen sich auf verschiedene Aspekte des Wettbewerbs- und Unternehmens-, Finanz- und Bankenrechts sowie Finanzkriminalität und Herausforderungen des Bankwesens.

“Unveiling Tomorrow’s Discoveries Through Inclusive Research and Innovation”
Das NSRS findet vom 21. bis 22. August 2024 am NIPAM in Windhoek statt. Mit mehr als 150 eingeladenen Teilnehmern soll das Symposium eine Plattform für Studenten und Doktoranden in Namibia bieten, um einen Beitrag zu thematischen Forschungsbereichen wie Gesundheit, Energie und Bergbau, Landwirtschaft und Ernährungssicherheit, Umwelt, Wasser und Sanitärversorgung, Biotechnologie, Human- und Sozialwissenschaften sowie Digitaltechnik zu leisten: Gesundheit; Energie und Bergbau; Landwirtschaft und Ernährungssicherheit; Umwelt, Wasser und Hygiene; Biotechnologie; Human- und Sozialwissenschaften; digitale Technologien; indigenes Wissen; Weltraumwissenschaften; Wissenschaft und Technologie; Ingenieurwesen. In Zusammenarbeit mit dem Ministerium für Hochschulbildung, Technologie und Innovation, der KAS, der University of Namibia (UNAM), der Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) umfasst das Programm des Symposiums Podiumsdiskussionen, Vorträge, Präsentationen und Ausstellungen. Change Management, Proposal Writing, Communication Skills, Sustainable Resource Mobilisation, Social Enterprise Development, Tour of Parliament and Certificate Handover
This 5-day training intervention constitutes the final session of the 2024 KAS-TEP Programme. With the support of 5 experts and the National Planning Commission, 18 participants will graduate this week. The final session will include topics on Change Management, Proposal Writing, Communication Skills, Sustainable Resource Mobilisation, Social Enterprise Development, a Tour of Parliament and a Certificate Handover to conclude.

As part of the Digital Bootcamp Series, KAS in partnership with the NIPDB and NAMCOL will be hosting the 3rd session on basic computer skills for entrepreneurs in Eenhana. The aim of the three day training is to equip Namibia's MSMEs with the necessary digital skills to enhance their operations, production, scalability in the Namibian marketplace and therewith enhance economic development across the regions in Namibia.

Drafting of Youth Engagement and Empowerment training manual and training of facilitators
The ECSO project - Empowering CSOs, Women, Youth and Marginalised communities as Equal Partners in Democracy co-funded by the European Union in partnership with KAS seeks the services of an experienced and qualified expert to draft the curriculum and content of the Youth Engagement and Empowerment manual suitable for CSOs at grassroots level. Training of facilitators on the manual is part of this consultancy. Suitably qualified and experienced consultant(s) are hereby invited to submit proposals for this short-term consultancy of the ECSO Project. KAS-TEP Session 2 Swakopmund
Strategic Planning, Project Management and Stakeholder Engagement
Session 2 of the KAS-TEP Programme 2024 is scheduled in Swakopmund for 5 days. Together with the support of a topical expert and representative of the Swakopmund Town Council, 18 selected youth representatives of Civil Society from across Namibia will be capacitated on the topics of Strategic Planning, Project Management and Stakeholder Engagements. The session further aims to strengthen the networking and leadership skills of the beneficiaries to help shape future leaders.
