On March 31, 2005, the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung facilitated a dialogue between Officials from the Philippine House of Representatives and Hon. Mr. Hans Joachim Fuchtel, member of the German Parliament and the Committee on Budget. Both sides discussed the current situation in the Philippines and Germany, over four decades of strong bilateral relations, key legislations, and issues related to preparation of the budget. Mr. Fuchtel has been a member of the Parliament’s Committee on Budget for more than 6 years.

Present at the dialogue were Congressman Antonio Cuenco, Chairman of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, Congressman Constantino Jaraulla, Chairman of the House Committee on Constitutional Amendments, Congressman Junie Cua, Vice Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriations, Congressman Hermilando Mandanas, and Leaders and officials from the Committee Affairs Department, the Plenary Affairs Bureau and the Congressional Planning and Budget Office.
