Details
The session gathered over 180 participants from over 25 different countries to participate in a 10-day programme aimed at promoting active citizenship, youth cooperation, and intercultural understanding. Divided into 11 working groups, the participants dissected some of the most pressing issues facing Europe from the pandemic-induced recession and reconciliation efforts in the Western Balkan 6 region, to sustainable cross-border travel alternatives and fundamental rights and freedoms of workers. The motivated young parliamentarians raised awareness surrounding the topics they were passionate about, but also did their research and consulted with experts to make informed and substantiated solution prepositions in their respective fields.
“In Novi Sad, I have learned you can accomplish anything if you keep challenging yourself and pushing the boundaries, exploring new possibilities and bridging gaps.” – Joris from The Netherlands
“Novi Sad was all about trying new things, failing, succeeding and, most importantly, growing. I’m leaving the session as a very different person than I was when I arrived.” – Pedro from Portugal
“It was all about pushing myself to do more than I believed I was capable of. I wanted to rejoin EYP as a disabled person to show myself and others that having a disability doesn’t mean you can’t be a valuable member of a team.” – Isabella from Sweden
