On the occasion of the anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation is organizing an International Conference in cooperation with the Foundation for Freedom and Democracy (FLD) on the 10th December 2021. The focus of this conference will be set on the pandemics’ impacts in 2020/2021 and the states’ disregard of upholding strong human rights. The wide range of discussion topic include: the public transparency on Covid-19 spread, standards of democracy in Albania, right to access basic economic security and social protections, homeschooling and the pandemics’ effects on domestic violence and women. The invited speakers will discuss the importance of human rights monitoring the states’ actions, talk about checks and balance of power and executive actions during the pandemic, and present recommendations of improvement. It is of great relevance to address human rights violations and make a contribution in finding a way out of the pandemic.
