Repeating the success of the day of the KAS at the German Pavilion OliAle during the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, the Foundation Konrad Adenauer returned to the pavilion on 15 September during the Paralympic games with two items on the agenda: international dialogue and inclusion as a challenge sociopolitical. The KAS, linked to the German CDU party, presented to over 700 Pavilion visitors its areas of work and its cooperation partners in Brazil, its scholarships program and its various publications.

During the Paralympic Games in Brazil, the KAS also sought to emphasize the theme of inclusive societies. The KAS, as a democratic-Christian foundation, advocates social and political participation globally and also equal opportunities in all societies. With more than 100 offices around the world, KAS has with one of its main missions the proposal of an international dialogue on global challenges - in this sense, the day of KAS brought together representatives from politics, professionals and people engaged in projects in Brazil, in Peru and in Germany to share challenges and possible solutions in their regions.

Among the various activities, we highlight the workshop on Sustainable Cities and Paralympic Games: Experiences in Latin America, in which experts discussed how the implementation of the Paralympic Games means an opportunity to improve the infrastructure of cities for the benefit of people with disabilities. As an international guest of EKLA-KAS, participated Adrian Frayssent del Corral, representative of the NGO Integrar Peru, who, alongside Brazilian experts exchanged ideas on the topic of sustainability as a broad concept, which also includes the notion of accessibility.
