at the XIV Winter Course on International Law

For the third consecutive year, EKLA-KAS collaborated with the organization of a course on Environmental Law during the Winter Course on International Law, an initiative by CEDIN.

From July 16 to 26, 2018, Belo Horizonte, Brazil hosted the XIV Winter Course on International Law, a pioneering initiative of the International Law Center (CEDIN).

The Regional Programme Energy Security and Climate Change in Latin America of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (EKLA-KAS) supported the organization of this fourteenth edition of the course, specifically the realization of a course on Environmental Law, with the participation of Professor Ximena Carolina Fuentes Torrijo, Adolfo Ibáñez University (UAI), Chile. Her lecture focused specifically on "The obligation to prevent environmental damage and the development of procedural obligations in International Environmental Law".

The Winter Course was attended by around 110 participants from all over Brazil. Following the success of its previous editions, the course aimed to stimulate and qualify reflection and debate on various issues of international law and was attended by renowned professors from the world’s leading universities.
