Promoting entrepreneurship as a contribution to the success of regional development

A roundtable on the topic "Promoting entrepreneurship as a contribution to the success of regional development" was held on October 28, 2016 in the Nauchnyi village of Shortandy district of Akmola region. The event was organized by the Union of Women Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan in cooperation with Konrad Adenauer Stiftung and the National Commission for Women Affairs, Family and Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Majilis deputy Meruert Kazbekova, Chairman of the NGO "Union of Women Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan", Sybille Pfeiffer, Bundestag deputy, Thomas Helm, Resident Representative of KAS to Kazakhstan, and Yerlan Mukhamedin, Deputy Mayor of Shortandy district of Akmola region participated in the opening ceremony and the session of the roundtable. Moreover, representatives of women's entrepreneurship, representatives of governmental structures, and representatives of non-governmental organizations were participating in the face of speakers and audience.

Before the beginning of the roundtable, together with the Deputy Mayor Yerlan Mukhamedin and Majilis deputy Meruert Kazbekova the Bundestag deputy Sybille Pfeiffer and the representatives of KAS toured the area and got familiarized with the objects of small and medium-sized businesses, which are led by women.

The guests of the roundtable had noticed the level of development of local entrepreneurship and the role of women in business and state development, including those relating to regional development policy.
