The program began with a visit to the “Experience Europe” Centre in Zagreb, where participants had the opportunity to learn more about decision-making processes within European political institutions through interactive simulation exercises. Following this engaging introduction, the program continued with the conference “Youth United for a Solidary Europe”.
The opening segment was marked by inspiring remarks from Dr. Norbert Eschborn, Director of the KAS Croatia-Slovenia, and Dr. Pavo Barišić, President of the International and Croatian Pan-European Union. Both emphasized the importance of actively involving young people in shaping Europe’s future.
A particularly engaging part of the program were the discussions with Croatian Members of the European Parliament, Dr. Tomislav Sokol and Dr. Karlo Ressler. In an open and dynamic exchange with young participants, they shared their experiences in European politics, addressed current topics, and encouraged dialogue on the challenges and opportunities facing Europe today.
The program continued with a panel discussion “Youth – the Strength of a Solidary Europe” with Dr. Pavao Nujić, Jelena Jakšić, Ivan Marić, Marija Barić Đurđević, and Pejo Bosnić, moderated by Anita Šakić. The discussion focused on the role of young people in strengthening European solidarity, communicating European policies, and the importance of active participation in social and political processes.
At the conclusion of the event, Dr. Norbert Eschborn and the project coordinator of the KAS Office, Anita Šakić, were awarded certificates of recognition in appreciation of their cooperation and their contribution to the organization and successful implementation of this significant event.
At the end of the conference, Dr. Eschborn was delighted to receive a formal award from the Croatian Pan-European Union on this joint event. In doing so, our valued partner expressed its appreciation for the ongoing commitment of the KAS Croatia-Slovenia Office to the European Idea. We were especially pleased that our dedicated and competent project coordinator responsible for European affairs, Anita Šakić, also received award at the same time.
