KAS in cooperation with Nigeria’s House of Representatives Committee on Army and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps is organizing a seminar for training colleges of the Nigerian security agencies on adopting interagency cooperation approaches.

The seminar aims at bringing together heads of colleges and senior level trainers from the various security training colleges in Nigeria including the National Defence College Abuja, Nigeria Defence Academy Kaduna, NSCDC training colleges, Police training colleges, DSS Institutes for security studies. The major objective of the seminar is to strengthen the capacity of trainers in the security colleges and share knowledge on best practices for promoting interagency cooperation and conflict resolution among their students and trainees who are personnel of security agencies. The seminar will be facilitated by seasoned experts in Peace, Conflict and Security Studies from the Nigeria Defence Academy and the National Defence College among others. Through this seminar, Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung will create a veritable platform for sharing experience, knowledge, information, materials and approaches on best practices among the colleges so as to increase their capacity to adequately develop and transfer the requisite knowledge to security personnel who pass through these colleges. The seminar is part of Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung’s support to the Security Sector Reform in Nigeria by ensuring that training institutions are empowered to deliver sustainable impacts. This program is funded by the Federal Foreign Office of Germany.
