Interagency Collaboration and Cooperation between Security Agencies and Citizens in the North-West Zone

The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) in collaboration with Nigeria’s House of Representatives’ Committee on Army and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) is organizing a seminar for heads of security agencies and leaders of civil society groups in three pilot states, Kaduna, Kano and Katsina for the North-West zone of Nigeria. The theme of the seminar is to increase trust and promote collaboration among security agencies and cooperation between security agencies and civilian citizens.

The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) is collaborating with Nigeria’s House of Representatives’ Committee on Army and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC). The seminar is for heads of security agencies and leaders of civil society groups in three pilot states, Kaduna, Kano and Katsina for the North-West zone of Nigeria. The theme of the seminar is to promote collaboration among security agencies and cooperation between security agencies and civilian citizens.

The seminar aims at evaluating the progress made towards strengthening collaborative initiatives between security personnel and civilian citizens. Furthermore, the seminar will also discuss current security challenges in the region with a view to propose steps that will strengthen collaboration among security agencies and civilian citizens in tackling insecurity in the zone.

The seminar is part of Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung’s support to the security cector reform in Nigeria. This program is funded by the Federal Republic of Germany.
