Migration – Current Trends Part II

Konrad Adenauer Stiftung is organizing a seminar on current trends on migration, which has become an important factor in the politics in Europe, and especially in Germany. This is coming as follow up to a seminar held in 2017 in which different stakeholders presented positions and perspectives on migration problems and challenges.

At this seminar, stakeholders shall come together to iron out the grey areas of migration, especially irregular migration, which has become a source of worry not only to host nations, but the nations where such migrants come from. Expected at this seminar are representatives of National Human Rights Commission, Refugee Commission, National Orientation Agency (NOA), National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), civil society organizations, and journalists among others. This seminar shall also prepare the grounds for a regional conference in early 2019, to which Members of national parliaments from the region, as well as security agencies responsible border control, stakeholders, non-government organizations, Members of German Bundestag and returnees shall be invited.
