Since years, the KAS counsels the Plateau State Parliament in Nigeria. For example, topics were: “Budgeting I and II” or “The Social Market Economy as a developed example at the state level”.

In 2008, the whole parliament was on a two week study trip in Germany, which was carried out on their own costs – organized and accompanied by the KAS in Abuja.

After suggestions of the KAS, the parliament has formed commissions, in which selected topics that seemed to be most important to the Plateau State Parliament, were focused and studied during the trip: education and vocational training, agriculture, energy supply, industrialization and fair votes.

Now, the parliament will have a retreat with the KAS in which the experiences of the trip shall be transformed into polity initiatives, to use the second half of the legislative period which ends in 2011 effectively.
