Around 40 participants from 9 Balkan countries and Germany participated in a diverse program of lectures, workshops and on-site visits in the picturesque city of Ohrid from 12-16 of July.

A wide range of subjects and topics were raised: The role of religion in the society, reconciliation, nationalism, civic activism, diversity, EU perspectives, multiculturalism, role of the media, ethnic identities and the concept of Balkanization, that enabled the participants to gain insights- through discussions, learn from practical-case studies presentations and interact through workshops.

The goal of the Summer School was to shift the status quo concerning the civic perception of religious, national and cultural differences among the academic youth from the region.
