Launch of the Western Balkans Competitiveness and Innovation Index

On 27 May in Skopje, the Center for Research and Policy Making, in cooperation with the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, organized an event dedicated to competitiveness, innovation, and digital transformation in the Western Balkans countries, during which the Western Balkans Competitiveness and Innovation Index was presented.

From the Schuman Vision to Geopolitical Reality: The New Challenges of European Integration More Than Seven Decades Later

On 20 May 2026, the conference entitled “Seven Decades Later: From Schuman's Vision to Europe's New Geopolitical Challenges” was held in Skopje, organised by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS), the European Movement in the Republic of North Macedonia and the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies (WMCES). The event was organised within the framework of the celebration of Europe Day – 9 May and served as a platform for discussion on current European challenges, the European Union enlargement process and the role of young people in the future of Europe.

Interreligious Classroom

The role of the Theologian in 21st Century: Challenges and Competencies

Within the framework of the “Interreligious Classroom” project, a significant study visit was carried out to two locations of exceptional cultural and religious importance in Skopje—the Church of the Nativity of the Holy Mother of God and the Sultan Murat Mosque. This event represented another step toward deepening interreligious understanding and building trust among young theologians in the country.

Youth Vision 2030 – Western Balkans, Stability and AI in Education

The EDS Winter University 2026 on the topic “Youth Vision 2030 – Western Balkans, Stability and AI in Education”, organized by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS), European Democrat Students (EDS) and the Youth Forces Union of VMRO-DPMNE, was held from 26 to 29 March in Skopje.

Regional School Security 2026: Regional security challenges in times of global geopolitical shifts

From 12 to 14 March 2026, the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Office in North Macedonia, in cooperation with the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies, successfully organized the Regional School Security 2026 in Ohrid. The three-day event brought together students, young professionals, and experts from three countries in the Region, North Macedonia, Bulgaria and Serbia, to discuss pressing security challenges in the context of evolving global geopolitical dynamics.

Ethical Dilemmas and Artificial Intelligence in Journalism

Workshop

The Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS), in cooperation with the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies from Brussels and the Association of Journalists (AJM), organized a training on the topic “Ethical Dilemmas and Artificial Intelligence in Journalism”, dedicated to the practical and ethical application of artificial intelligence (AI) in journalism, which was held from 26 to 28 February 2026 in Shtip.

High School Participation Award – NajGLASni!

The Konrad Adenauer Foundation and the Leaders for Education, Activism and Development Association continue this year with the tradition of awarding the High School Participation Award – NajGLASni!, a project approved by the Ministry of Education and Science. The award serves as recognition for the engagement, activity, and commitment of student communities that contribute to strengthening student participation and improving school life.

Regional Summer School 2025

Society and Religion: Ethnic Groups, Identity and Nationalism

Young participants from Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Kosovo, North Macedonia, and Serbia gathered in the city of Ohrid from 8 to 11 July 2025 for a Regional Summer School dedicated to one of the most pressing and sensitive themes in the Balkans “Society and Religion—Ethnic Groups, Identity, and Nationalism”. Hosted by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung and the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies, the program brought together a diverse group of 17 students from various ethnic and religious backgrounds to engage in a meaningful dialogue on coexistence, diversity, and the future of interethnic relations in Southeast Europe.

Strong Communities, Strong Future

How Government and Parliament Support Sustainable Local Policy

Aiming to strengthen local political capacity building, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in cooperation with the Party Research and Analytical Center “Ljubisha Georgievski” from 13 to 15 June 2025 organised a training in Shtip on the topic: “Strong Communities, Strong Future: How Government and Parliament Support Sustainable Local Policy.” Bringing together members of the Executive Committee of VMRO-DPMNE and mayoral candidates, this event laid the groundwork for developing and implementing sustainable and effective policies at the municipal level — a key foundation for a well-functioning state.

Europe Day 2025

25 Years of Supporting North Macedonia's EU Integration and Democratic Progress

On 28 May 2025, the annual Europe Day event took place at the invitation of the European Movement in the Republic of North Macedonia, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, and the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies. Marking 25 years of European engagement in North Macedonia, the event featured a panel discussion on EU enlargement and integration, followed by a youth club focused on political participation among young people.
