Dr. Franco will discuss the European Union’s mission in the 21st century, which is providing peace, stability and prosperity for its people. Also he will illustrate the list of tasks entrusted to the EU which is wide-ranging, covering economic, social and political action. The economic tasks of the EU revolve around establishing a common market that unites the national markets of the member states. In addition to the social tasks of the EU which are centered around the need for solidarity between the EU countries.

The course is part of the Concentration in Diplomacy, part of the MA program in International Studies, offered by the IALIIS in collaboration with Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung.
