The core topic of her visit to the KAS office in Ramallah was the KAS co-funded opinion poll on the current assessments of the Israeli-Palestinian peace process by Palestinians. Dr. Khalil Shikaki, director of the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research (PSR), a partner of KAS, briefed Schavan, a KAS member herself, and her delegation about the joint project of opinion research.

During her day in Ramallah, Schavan also met with the Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Riad al-Malki, and the Minister of Education and Higher Education, Lamis al-Alami. At al-Quds University, the Arab university of Jerusalem, she met with al-Quds President Dr. Sari Nusseibeh as well as with young scientists who work on joint German-Israeli-Palestinian projects.
