As part of an 11-day tour to Israel and the Palestinian Territories, a German delegation visited the KAS office in Ramallah on March 9, 2011. The tour was part of a program to sign a city twinning agreement between the German city of Bergisch Gladbach and the Palestinian city of Beit Jala on March 12. Officials from Germany included the Deputy Mayor of Bergisch Gladbach, Ingrid Koshofer, and the Director of the Association for the City Twinning, Axel Becker, as well as several city council members.

The schedule for the trip was organised by KAS. It started with a visit to Birzeit University, where the group met with Dr. Sumaya Farhat Nasser and talked about issues of human rights and conflict resolution. Afterwards the delegation was welcomed at the KAS office in Ramallah. The Resident Representative Felix Dane informed the guests about the current political and economical developments in the West Bank and Gaza, and the KAS work in general.

Afterwards the group was joined by two members from the German Representative Office in Ramallah: Dr. Franziska Hagedorn, First Secretary for Political Affairs, and Mutasem Alashhab. They discussed with the delegation, amongst other topics, the prospects for the upcoming elections. Afterwards, the group returned to Beit Jala.
