To ensure professionalism and accuracy in the preparation of the Code of Ethics, the Bader Youth Network successfully sought an acknowledged expert in this field beforehand. Mohammad Shamia, a trainer at the Youth Consulting Group (YCG), commenced the meeting by discussing the basics of ethics with Bader members. He emphasized the crucial importance of implementing and internalizing ethical values within the institutional basis of a civil-society organization.
In the aftermath, selected representatives of the BYN and expert Shamia will prepare a first draft of Bader’s own Code of Ethics based on the compiled results of the meeting. This draft will then be discussed during the next General Committee meeting, and if approved fully, will be officially adopted.
The Bader Youth Network is a joint initiative of the International Peace and Cooperation Center (IPCC) Jerusalem and the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Ramallah. Aim of the Project is to strengthen the role of youth in Palestinian society and in the political arena, to support future leaders as well as to cut back gender barrier. In this way, KAS and its partner support the build-up of a pluralistic, democratic and viable civil society in the Palestinian Autonomous Territories. The project is funded by the German Foreign Office within the framework of the program "Empowering Democracy".
