The MENA region has a significant potential for renewable energy production and development, and although it has produced 10 times more renewable energy in the last 10 years, there is still a long way to go to seize the opportunities that these new energy sources present in terms of sustainability, cost and environmental standards.

Indeed, renewables can also reduce the effects of change by providing clean energy that generates economic growth and can also serve as an accelerator of research and innovation. With the natural conditions largely favourable in the countries of the region, they are called upon to further stimulate investment in the renewable energy sector and thus maximise its profitability.

Thanks to multi-stakeholder collaboration and considerable upheavals on the global energy market (following the Russian invasion in Ukraine), the field of renewable energy is now high on the agenda of policy makers. The involvement of players such as the Regional Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE) considerably facilitates and accelerates the exchange of information.

KAS REMENA provides this video, produced in partnership with RCREEE, to highlight the potential of renewable energy in the MENA region. This educational content can be used by any stakeholder working on the subject and wishing to learn from this collaborative model in the region.
