This study by the Ukrainian Centre for European Policy is dedicated to establishing in Ukraine a modern, transparent, and EU-law-compliant system for verifying the sustainability of liquid biofuels, biocomponents, and biogas used in the transport sector. The publication analyses the requirements of the RED II and RED III Directives and Implementing Regulation (EU) 2022/996, identifies gaps in Ukrainian legislation, and proposes a detailed model for a national procedure for verifying compliance with sustainability criteria

Results of a Survey of Ukrainian Farmers on EU Policy. Part 1

The study is devoted to analysing the environmental and climate requirements of the European Union’s Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) within the conditionality framework and assessing the readiness of Ukraine’s agri-food sector for their gradual implementation in the context of European integration. The focus of the study is on Statutory Management Requirements (SMRs) in the areas of Water and Biodiversity, as well as the practical challenges and opportunities related to their implementation at the level of agricultural holdings. This analytical document was prepared by the Ukrainian Center for European Policy in cooperation with the NGO "Ecoaction" based on data obtained from a survey of 364 Ukrainian farms conducted in August-October 2025.

Сьогодні виповнюється вісімдесят років з дня закінчення Другої світової війни в Європі. У Німеччині, звідки ця війна розпочалася, сприйняття та оцінка її завершення постійно змінювалися протягом цих 80 років. Важливою віхою в цьому розвитку стала - рівно на півдорозі цих 80 років - промова тодішнього Федерального президента Ріхарда фон Вайцзеккера з нагоди сорокової річниці закінчення війни 8 травня 1985 р. Відтоді минуло ще понад чотири роки до мирної революції в НДР, яка була б неможливою без змін в інших країнах Східної Європи. Поразка чи визволення — два ключові поняття в німецькій культурі пам’яті про завершення війни — й досі відіграють важливу роль і в інших країнах, а також залишаються об'єктом зловживань і маніпуляцій, зокрема з боку росії. Саме тому ми вперше публікуємо оригінальний текст важливої промови тодішнього Федерального президента в українському перекладі.
