Bundestag election 2025 – AfD voter migration data. Share of total positive balances. Voter turnout: 82.5% (+6.2%); AfD 20.8% (+10.4%). Source: ARD / Infratest dimap election reporting.

The AfD won 20.8 per cent of the vote in the 2025 federal election. It doubled its election result compared to the 2021 federal election.

Contrary to frequent assumptions, the largest increase came from the former non-voters. However, a large number of voters from smaller parties also switched to the AfD. Around half of the new AfD voters came from these two groups.

Only just under half of the voter migration to the AfD came from former CDU/CSU, FDP and SPD voters. The AfD was hardly able to mobilise any votes from former Greens and Left Party voters.

The detailed results of the 2025 Bundestag election, key determinants, voter migration and social structure of the electorate can be found in the election analysis.
