Entrepreneurship requires more than promising ideas. Turning concepts into viable businesses also depends on practical skills, networks, mentorship and a supportive business environment.
The Entrepreneurship Game Jam, organised by KAS Regional Programme Economy Africa together with German innovation partner Gecko Two, brought Kenyan and German participants together at iHub Nairobi for an intensive three-day programme. Working in teams, participants applied entrepreneurial methods to develop ideas, build prototypes and test potential solutions within a limited timeframe.
The programme combined practical experimentation with expert guidance and exchanges on the opportunities and challenges facing entrepreneurs in Kenya and Germany. It also created opportunities for participants to develop international networks and explore continued collaboration beyond the event. The initiative highlighted the importance of connecting entrepreneurial talent with the wider innovation ecosystem. Beyond individual skills and access to finance, entrepreneurs need effective support structures, access to markets and predictable regulatory conditions to translate promising ideas into sustainable businesses.
