completAfrican Media Councils' Meeting
Convened by the South African Press Council and supported by KAS Media Programme Sub-Saharan Africa.
The aim of the meeting is to strengthen self-regulation of media content in Africa by fostering communication and an exchange of information between independent media councils, identifying issues of common concern, discussing the establishment of a network of media councils, and giving African delegates the opportunity to prepare for and attend the conference of the global Organisation of News Ombudsmen and Standards.

Radio Days Africa 2019
Zum zehnten Mal lädt die WITS Radio Academy zu den Radio Days Africa. Rund 300 Teilnehmer aus der Radiobranche und der interessierten Öffentlichkeit werden in Johannesburg erwartet. Das Programm für die zweieinhalb tägige Konferenz ist vielfältig: Die Teilnehmer befassen sich mit allen Varianten des Radios – vom öffentlichen und privaten bis hin zum Internet- und Community-Radio. Sie werfen einen Blick auf aktuelle Radiotrends im Internet oder die Produktion von Radiosendungen und Hörspielen. Nicht zuletzt haben Teilnehmer die Möglichkeit, in Kursen zu lernen, wie gute Geschichten über das Radio erzählt werden können.

Media and Migration: Telling Moving Stories
KAS Media Afrika wird in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Institute for the Advancement of Journalism (IAJ) die Konferenz austragen. Die Veranstaltung findet im Holocaust- und Völkermordzentrum in Johannesburg statt. Im Mittelpunkt stehen Medienberichte über Migration und Flüchtlinge sowie Unterschiede zwischen den Erzählungen, Einstellungen und Debatten in den verschiedenen Regionen Afrikas und Europas.
