The main aim of the conference is to identify and discuss the main challenges for the further economic growth of the G20 countries as well as to illustrate some of the potential areas of cooperation for tackling these challenges. The worldwide parameters for economic growth have shifted noticeably in the last couple of years through technological, security -related and social developments, making a continuous process of reflection over these new circumstances crucial for successfully handling these challenges in a common effort.

The conference therefore brings together distinguished exports from academia, the economy as well as politics, to discuss these new challenges. These range from geopolitical shifts in the balance of power in Asia, the regulation of the global financial markets to questions of growing inequality and energy security. The KAS in India hereby actively supports the efforts of the “Indian Council for Research on International Economics” as a Partner, which is primarily responsible for the organization of the conference.
