On the occasion of the Asia Pacific Regional Conference in Perth, KAS Australia and Pacific conducted a further political dialogue programme with MP Mark Hauptmann and MP Volkmar Klein which focused on the topics of Digitalisation, Economic Policy, Industry 4.0, Energy and Cybersecurity. MP Hauptmann and MP Klein met with Australian politicians, representatives from the economic sector as well as industry and academic experts in Sydney and Perth to exchange perspectives and strengthen ties in regards to these important socio-economic and security issues. Meetings and talks centered on the important role of innovation, digitalization, energy issues, political issues pertinent to Germany and Australia as well as the potential offered by Start-Up Hubs and venture capital. Throughout the many meetings, they addressed the various dimensions of current challenges and opportunities, which resulted in a plethora of thought-provoking and stimulating exchanges.
