The first seminar within the Political Academy 2008 shall focus on improving politician’s communication skills. Therefore the emphasis shall be on the practical work (holding a speech, public address, media communication, camera appearance etc.)

The second seminar will cover the lectures and discussion regarding Party democracy. Political Parties of Bosnia and Herzegovina have developed from the political movements from the beginning of 90’s into serious political parties. However the process of reform of these political parties has not yet been finished completely. The lecturers from Netherlands and Germany shall help us create picture on functioning of party democracy in the Western European Countries.

Objectives:

Strengthen cooperation between the EPP-ED linked parties of BiH

Strengthening the democratic structure and functioning of these parties

Increasing discussions of political goals in BiH

Strengthening coalitions

Enabling party members to convince through political communication

Enabling party members to form coalitions

The target group would be made up of candidates for the Mayor in the Municipality and candidates on the list for the municipal councils. Although the interest for the political academy is great coming from senior politicians, the biggest possible number of young candidates shall be involved in the seminars.
