On April 7, Mr. Gunther Krichbaum, Minister of State for Europe at the Federal Foreign Office of the Federal Republic of Germany, met with Sur-Place scholarship holders and alumni at the office of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Kazakhstan. The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Kazakhstan, Ms. Monika Iwersen; Mr. Paul Amann, Deputy Head of the Department for Central Asia and the Caucasus at the Federal Foreign Office; and Mr. Elias Oppenrieder, First Secretary in the Political Affairs Department at the German Embassy.
Participants engaged in an active exchange of views on foreign policy, international relations, and prospects for cooperation between Kazakhstan and Germany.
The discussion underscored the importance of strengthening dialogue between young professionals and policymakers, as well as fostering mutual understanding between the two countries. The scholarship holders had the opportunity to share their perspectives, ask questions, and engage directly with representatives of the German government, making the meeting both insightful and inspiring.
