Nairobi Dialogue on Global Trust 2026

The Trust Summit 2026 (Nairobi, 21–23 October) brought together leaders from government, business, civil society, and academia under the theme "Nairobi Dialogue on Global Trust" to tackle the erosion of trust in public institutions, international relations, and the digital space. The event was co-convened by the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, Strathmore University, UNDP, Ford Foundation, Open Government Partnership, the Office of the Chief of Staff and Head of the Public Service, and Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Kenya. Over three days, discussions focused on public accountability, multipolar diplomacy, green partnerships, and turning high-level commitments into proof of delivery. The summit concluded with the launch of the Nairobi Call to Action, framing trust as a vital economic asset built on transparency, inclusion, and measurable progress. KAS Kenya Country Director Mathias Kamp emphasized that the summit is not an endpoint, but a milestone in creating a broad coalition of state and non-state actors dedicated to following through on their promises

Women Political Leaders Capacity Strengthened

On the 22nd and 23rd of July, KAS Kenya, in collaboration with the KANU Party Women’s Congress, held a two-day capacity building workshop aimed at strengthening the political leadership skills of female leaders within KANU. The workshop is part of the Women and Youth Democratic Engagement (WYDE) Political Parties project funded by the European Union and led by ENoP.

Soul Boy

Das KAS Büro in Nairobi hatte sein erstes dem Film gewidmeten Kulturprogramm bei dem der kenianische Film „Soul Boy“ gezeigt wurde. Der Film wurde in Kibera gedreht und die Darsteller wurden von der deutschen Filmgesellschaft One Fine Day, die mit dem Goethe Institut in Nairobi zusammenarbeitet, vor Ort ausgewählt.
