Details

The World Conference of Science Journalists (WCSJ) 2025, co-hosted by the Science Diplomacy Capital for Africa and the South African Science Journalists Association (SASJA), brings together journalists, scientists, and media professionals from around the world under the theme “Science journalism and social justice: journalism that builds understanding and resilience.”

Held every two years, this will be the first WCSJ hosted on the African continent - a milestone moment for African science journalism. The conference aims to create a collaborative platform for discussing the challenges and opportunities in reporting on science, health, technology, and the environment, particularly in the context of social equity and inclusion.

Through its support, KAS Media Africa will enable selected journalists from across the continent to attend and contribute to this important exchange. The event will feature panel discussions, workshops, and networking sessions designed to strengthen professional standards and empower journalists to communicate science more effectively and responsibly.
