2026 National Student Research Symposium

Harnessing AI to Catalyze Transformative Research: Empowering the Next Generation of Innovators

The 2026 National Student Research Symposium will take place from 14–16 October 2026 in Windhoek, Namibia, bringing together student researchers, academics, policymakers, industry representatives and innovation partners to showcase emerging research and strengthen connections between research, innovation and national development. Organised by the Ministry of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture (MEIYSAC) in collaboration with the National Commission on Research, Science and Technology (NCRST), KAS and partner institutions, the symposium will feature research presentations, panel discussions, demonstrations and exhibitions across a range of thematic areas. With a special focus on artificial intelligence, the symposium will explore the opportunities and challenges presented by AI in research, including responsible and ethical use, research integrity and innovation. KAS is supporting the symposium as a strategic partner, contributing to discussions aimed at empowering Namibia’s next generation of researchers and innovators.
