A 10-part podcast exploring African media, journalism and the stories shaping Africa–Europe relations
Media in Africa is a new 10-part podcast series exploring how African media is made, funded and heard—and how it shapes the relationship between Africa and Europe.
Hosted by journalist and broadcaster Georja Calvin-Smith, the series brings together diverse perspectives on media consumption, storytelling, local journalism, media partnerships, the economics of the creative industries, media ethics and safety, public service media, investigative journalism and the changing media landscape.
The series officially launches on Wednesday, 26 August 2026, with new episodes released weekly. The first episode is currently available as a preview on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube and wherever you get your podcasts.
The series is produced in partnership with KAS Media Africa, with editorial control resting with Meridian17.
