Ministry of Justice & Labour Relations – Leadership Training Workshop

Capacity Building for Middle-Management Legal Officers

The Ministry of Justice and Labour Relations (MoJLR) in partnership with Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS), Namibia-Angola office, is hosting a 4-day Leadership Training Initiative in Windhoek, aimed at strengthening leadership, management, and professional competencies of 36 middle-management legal officers within the Ministry. The fully funded capacity building initiative forms part of a three-phase strategic internal capacity-building programme aimed at enhancing institutional capability and improving service delivery in support of the rule of law and justice sector development. Phase one facilitated by the Saki Nikodemus Institute for Practical Leadership and Hermien Speaks, targets Chief Legal Officers and Deputy Chief Legal Officers in the Directorates of Legislative Drafting, Legal Services, Law Reform, and the Master of the High Court to strengthen skills pertaining to Leadership, Management and Supervisory Skills; High-Performance Organisational Culture; Change Management; Inter-personal and Communication Skills; Emotional Intelligence; Team Cohesion. Ultimately, the partnership is geared toward strengthening the Ministry's institutional leadership capacity, whilst enhancing professional excellence within the legal cadre to support a high­ performance and service delivery orientated culture.
