Exploring Albania's economic potential and development opportunities

KAS organized a joint conference on business perspectives and partnerships for German companies in Albania on May 1 together with Baden-Badener Unternehmer Gespräche, a German network of entrepreneurs and executives. The event was moderated by former member of the Bundestag Joachim Pfeiffer.

Dr. Thomas Kunze welcomed the guests on behalf of the KAS office in Tirana and gave an overview of the country's history and current context. This was followed by a conversation with Jorida Tabaku from the Democratic Party, who gave insights into the untapped potential of partnerships in Albania as well as into the EU integration process.

The following panels included two Albanian ministers: Ermal Nufi spoke about the challenges of defence and security policy in Albania and the Western Balkans, while Delina Ibrahimaj addressed some of the key success factors as well as Albania's economic challenges.

 

Further discussions focused on the readiness of the Albanian economy and neighbouring countries for the EU accession process, as well as the ongoing infrastructural change that the country is currently experiencing.
