The Konrad Adenauer Foundation in cooperation with "Friends from Korça" and AREA organized on September 21st a round table regarding the promotion of measures for the use of renewable energy for sustainable tourism. Key contributing development actors were invited, including the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Energy Mr. Gjergj Simaku, the Head of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in Albania Ms. Ekaterina Solovova and the GIZ Advisor at the Albanian Ministry of Infrastructure Mr. Julien Jomaux. The event was opened with a speech by Dr. Tobias Rüttershoff, Head of the KAS Office in Albania, who welcomed all participants and introduced the topic of the event. Several presentations followed, all with the aim of presenting innovative projects and proposing solutions to specific challenges. Above all, the importance of the development of renewable energies was emphasized, also for the development of the overall economy and tourism. Afterwards, there was an open discussion among the participants, in which suggestions could be revealed as well as questions were clarified. The event was a success, but during the event it became clear that there is still a need for discussion between the stakeholders. Therefore, there will be more of these events in the future to ensure a continuous exchange.
