Emotional Party Assessment in Representative and Qualitative Surveys

Electoral research is facing great challenges: Dynamics of voting decisions are immense and old certainties are fragile. Voting behaviour has become more individual. This study uses new approaches to investigate the question of voters' emotional relationships to parties. Using a mix of methods from representative surveys and open in-depth interviews, stable emotional patterns can be found among eligible voters.

Ten years after the outbreak of the Arab uprisings that gripped much of the Middle East and North Africa in one form or another, the Regional Program Political Dialogue South Mediterranean of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS PolDiMed) is delighted to published a survey that captures the opinions, sentiments and feelings of citizens in Algeria, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco and Tunisia.

Analysis of current global AI developments with a focus on Europe

Europe has to play a leading role in key digital technologies such as artificial intelligence. This was not only emphasized by Ursula von der Leyen in her inaugural speech as President of the EU Commission. It is also the tenor of numerous European AI strategies. In terms of this claim, our new study confirms that Europe has enormous untapped potential. If Europe wants to compete with the leading AI powers in this basic technology of digitization, the weaknesses of its ai innovation ecosystem must be addressed in a decisive manner.

Representative Surveys on Belief in Conspiracy Theories before and during the Covid-19 Crisis

Conspiracy theories have gained special attention in the Covid-19 crisis. For instance, the impression emerged of a widely held belief in a Covid-19 conspiracy, according to which the virus was fabricated or its danger far exaggerated. Further, it was assumed that belief in conspiracy theories has increased significantly in the course of the Covid-19 crisis. The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung investigated both questions in representative surveys.
