For KAS, energy security and climate change have become an important piece for the structure and maintenance of a democratic social order. In this context, the KAS Security Regional Energy Program and Climate Change in Latin America (EKLA) has been designed as a dialogue platform, in order to give impetus to the process of political decision-making on these issues.
In this framework, we are pleased to present the “Governance Climate and Local Responses to Climate Change: Comparison of Case Studies for The Pacific Alliance Cities” report, which was prepared as a response to the challenge of managing cities in a context of urban growth and climate change. The report explores climate governance practices and concrete actions for adaptation and mitigation. Finally, policy recommendations focused on financing, observatories, climate risk management and low carbon development, are aimed at strengthening the process of decision-making of local government leaders on the way to institutions that include climate change holistically in planning.
