The growing complexity of the global economy—driven by geopolitical tensions, armed conflicts, technological disruption, climate change, and social inequality—calls for a more balanced and sustainable economic approach. Conventional market systems have often struggled to address challenges such as unequal wealth distribution, MSME vulnerability, and environmental degradation.
The Social and Ecological Market Economy (SEME) offers an approach that combines market efficiency with social justice and environmental sustainability. In Indonesia, these principles strongly resonate with the concept of Pancasila Market Economy, which emphasizes social welfare, mutual cooperation, and a balanced relationship between state, market, and society.
Against this backdrop, the Postgraduate Course on the Social and Ecological Market Economy (SEME) 2026 serves as a platform for intellectual exchange and policy innovation. Bringing together academics, policymakers, practitioners, journalists, and civil society actors, the program aims to strengthen understanding and practical application of SEME principles in addressing Indonesia’s economic and social challenges.
Through interactive lectures, case studies, and policy brief development, the course seeks to foster future leaders and agents of change who can promote an inclusive, equitable, competitive, and environmentally sustainable economic system in Indonesia.
