Details
As part of the continuing collaboration between Universitas Paramadina and Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) Indonesia, a Panel Discussion will be organized to enrich and strengthen the conceptual and practical framework of the upcoming book “The Principles of Pancasila Market Economy.”
The discussion builds upon earlier initiatives—including the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) held in Yogyakarta in 2024—and aims to reaffirm Pancasila as the philosophical foundation of Indonesia’s national economic system. The Pancasila Market Economy framework seeks to integrate market efficiency with social justice, guided by the five core values of Pancasila: divinity, humanity, unity, democracy, and social justice.
In today’s increasingly complex global environment—characterized by geopolitical competition, economic polarization, and technological disruption—it is essential for Indonesia to strengthen an economic model that is both globally adaptive and deeply rooted in national values. The Panel Discussion will provide a platform for scholars, policymakers, and practitioners to deliberate on how the Pancasila Market Economy can address challenges such as inclusive growth, sustainable development, digital transformation, and fair market competition.
This event will also serve as an intellectual space to gather critical insights and recommendations that will contribute directly to the refinement and completion of the book “The Principles of Pancasila Market Economy.” Additionally, the discussion will commemorate and advance the legacy of Prof. Dr.-Ing. B. J. Habibie and Prof. Firmanzah, Ph.D., whose visionary ideas laid the foundation for this initiative.
