Details

Chapter six of the 2010 constitution is very clear on the kind of leaders that should take up public offices in the county and national governments. Kenyans through the civil society have gone to the court seeking an interpretation and subsequent blocking of aspirants from running for various positions. The verdict of the court has left many wondering what the constitution really means under the circumstances.

This workshop was organized on the basis of questions raised by residents when the court fails to set clear verdicts that can help the community set up their own vetting local structures to allow for credible leadership in the county governments.

It is our hope after this workshop the participants shall be able to disseminate the knowledge gained to the people on the ground and empower them to be able to challenge an indication of failure to stick to the rule of law.
