This paper analyses the decision- and policy-making on the issues of women, youth and ethnic communities, in political parties that have their parliamentary groups in the Parliament of Kosovo, namely, in Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Movement for Self-determination (VETËVENDOSJE!), Alliance for Future of Kosovo (AAK), and in the New Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA). The regulation of these issues by the Serbian List (Lista Srpska) are not treated in this paper given that this political group is a citizens‟ initiative and holds no status of political party.

Am 19. November 2014 haben sich fünf Monate nach den Parlamentswahlen im Kosovo die zwei größten Parteien des Landes auf eine Koalition geeinigt. Vorausgegangen waren dieser Einigung parteiinterne Beratungen und ein Treffen bei der kosovarischen Staatspräsidentin, Atifete Jahjaga, zur Beendigung des politischen Stillstands im Kosovo. An dem Gespräch nahm auch die US-Botschafterin, Tracy Ann Jacobson, teil. Die beiden Parteivorsitzenden Isa Mustafa (LDK) und Hashim Thaçi (PDK) gaben bekannt, das Land in den kommenden vier Jahre gemeinsam regieren zu wollen.

Keine Zwischenfälle - PDK als Wahlsiegerin - Minusrekord bei Wahlbeteiligung

Am 8. Juni 2014 fanden im gesamten Gebiet des Kosovos Parlamentsneuwahlen statt, deren Ergebnis bedeutend ist für den weiteren europäischen Kurs des Landes und für den Dialogprozess mit Serbien. Nach bisherigen Erkenntnissen verlief die Wahl ruhig und es gab keine Zwischenfälle. Die Regierungspartei PDK von Premierminister Hashim Thaci ging mit knapp über 30 % als Siegerin aus diesen Parlamentswahlen hervor. Die LDK wurde mit knapp 26 % stärkste Oppositionspartei. Die Wahlbeteiligung erreichte mit rund 42 % einen absoluten Minusrekord.
