The largest energy consumption in public sector is at the municipal level. Municipalities hold the biggest number of public premises including: schools, kindergartens, family healthcare centers, municipal buildings, offices, public lighting, transport.This makes them the leading energy consumers. At the same time, municipalities are producers, consumers, distributors, and regulators of energy.

Kosovo Government has drafted a new law on energy efficiency (in accordance with EU directives) which will address those and other relevant topics. The Konrad Adenauer Foundation has already organized a workshop addressing all the concerns from different stakeholders, representatives from NGO’s and from University.

On this occasion we will present also a new policy brief entitled “Impact of Energy Efficiency Financial Mechanisms in Boosting Local Development”.
