"Croatian Paneuropean Union – 33 Years of Work"

ZAGREB - With the support of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, the Croatian Paneuropean Union presented the memorial "Croatian Paneuropean Union – 33 Years of Work" on October 10th, 2024. The memorial was presented by the president of the Croatian Paneuropean Union, Prof. Pavo Barišić, PhD, and the honorary president, Academician Mislav Ježić. The special guest was the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Andrej Plenković, who also delivered a speech. Prof. Barišić, PhD, explained the importance of remembrance and memories, especially of the individuals and ideas that have contributed to the well-being of society in the spirit of European and Christian values. He added that such valuable testimonies help to better understand the past, contribute to understanding the present, and provide guidance for facing the future. Academician Ježić introduced the key figures and historical moments leading to the establishment of the Croatian Paneuropean Union and explained how the memorial summarizes all efforts, events, the breadth of work, and the importance of the activities of the Croatian Paneuropean Union. Prime Minister Plenković, who is also a member of the Presidency of the Croatian Paneuropean Union, spoke about the continuous efforts of the Paneuropean Union in achieving the idea of a united Europe based on Christian values. He emphasized that the Croatian Paneuropean Union has made a significant contribution to the processes of international recognition of the Republic of Croatia.
